The Lang Son branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) is maintaining stable operations and creating favourable conditions for people to access preferential loan capital following the rearrangement of administrative boundaries.
Studying the draft documents, local officials, entrepreneurs, scientists and residents agreed with the six key tasks and three strategic breakthroughs proposed. However, many suggested that the documents should place greater emphasis on removing bottlenecks and unlocking available resources; accelerating decentralisation and delegation of authority; and enhancing autonomy and accountability of localities, alongside building high-quality human resources.

By 2030, the province aims to achieve a GRDP of 111.1 trillion VND (4.2 billion USD), an annual GRDP growth of 10-11%, per capita GRDP of about 130 million VND. The northern province of Lang Son has completed construction and repair of 6,508 homes for disadvantaged households, marking the full fulfilment of its programme to eradicate temporary and dilapidated houses by August 28.

Lang Son Global Geopark spans over 4,842 square kilometres, roughly 58% of the province, and is home to around 627,500 people. It features a rich blend of geological wonders and cultural heritage, including stunning caves and sinkholes such as Nguom Mooc Cave, Tham Lum and Ung Roac. Its biodiversity is also protected within the Huu Lien Nature Reserve.
On June 19 alone, a total of 2,005 trucks completed customs clearance at Lang Son’s border gates — the highest single-day figure ever recorded in the province. Of these, 634 carried exports and 1,371 imports.
From January to early June, the total import-export turnover through Lang Son’s border gates reached over 34 billion USD, up 36% year-on-year.
With the advantage of having two international border gates, a bilateral border gate and seven sub-border gates, Lang Son has emerged as an important logistics centre for many foreign companies, including those from India.

PM Pham Minh Chinh asked Cao Bang and Lang Son provinces to mobilise the entire political system for effective site clearance, ensure an adequate supply of materials for the projects, and engage mass organisations and the police and military forces in supporting the contractors in the construction sites.
Authorities of Van Lang district in Vietnam's northern province of Lang Son, and Pingxiang township in China’s Guangxi province on January 25 announced the official restoration of immigration activities at Tan Thanh (Lang Son) – Puzhai (Guangxi) border crossing.
The northern mountainous province of Lang Son is taking measures to preserve and promote the ecotourism value and potential of the Lang Son Global Geopark, recognised by UNESCO in September 2024.
