Vietnam, Cuba exchange theoretical views on Party’s leadership in macroeconomic stability

The two sides explored in depth the Party’s role in leadership, orientation, oversight and strategic coordination in economic management; approaches to implementing economic restructuring programmes alongside the renewal of the growth model; measures to respond to global economic volatility, inflationary pressures and shifts in global trade; and the building of effective strategic advisory bodies to ensure the Party’s comprehensive leadership in a changing context.

Discussing Vietnam’s push toward digital transformation in journalism, Minh said the country has rapidly advanced its efforts in the post-COVID-19 era. Vietnam, Cuba target 500 mln USD in two-way trade

Cuba remains one of Vietnam’s 10 key markets in Latin America, while Vietnam is now Cuba’s second largest partner in the Asia-Pacific. Vietnam is also Cuba’s largest Asian investor, and one of its leading foreign investors overall, with seven active projects spanning construction materials, consumer goods, industrial park infrastructure, and energy.

For Cuba, Vietnam’s cooperation in the field of agriculture is currently the foundation for achieving food security. Havana photo exhibition highlights Vietnam – Cuba relations

Vietnam and Cuba officially established diplomatic relations on December 2, 1960. Over the past 65 years, their traditional solidarity, special friendship, and comprehensive cooperation have been continuously strengthened through exchanges of all-level delegations, collaboration in economy, trade, investment, tourism, education, culture, and sports, as well as people-to-people interactions.

Vietnam – Cuba rice project bears “golden seeds” of friendship

Launched in 2002, the project covered four rice-growing regions across 11 Cuban provinces. In its 2024–2025 phase, yields of fresh unhusked rice averaged 5.8 tonnes per hectare, 2.5 times higher than the traditional local output and surpassing the project’s initial target of 5 tonnes.
