Vietnam and Singapore signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) on rice trade at the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in Gyeongju, the Republic of Korea on October 30, a new step to promote economic collaboration and ensure regional food security.

Vietnam maintains strong footing in Singapore’s seafood market

In the first nine months of 2025, seafood imports from Vietnam reached 88.6 million SGD (68.2 million USD), up 14.5% year-on-year and accounting for 10.2% of Singapore’s total seafood import value. Vietnam remained the third-largest seafood supplier to Singapore, after Malaysia and Indonesia.

Vietnam, Singapore foster links in electronics, industrial production

Do Thi Thuy Huong, Executive Committee Member of the Vietnam Electronic Industries Association (VEIA), said Vietnam has adopted a national strategy for 2030–2050 to become a global supply chain hub. She added that Vietnam is also working with Singapore, which has strengths in chip design and foundry, to promote technology transfer, value chain division, and joint infrastructure investment.

Vietnam Airlines, Singapore Airlines launch codeshare services

Under the agreement, SIA will codeshare (SQ) on Vietnam Airlines-operated flights between Singapore and Vietnam's Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Vietnam Airlines will codeshare (VN) on SIA-operated flights between Singapore and Da Nang, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City.
