Vietnamese Deputy Minister of National Defence Sen. Lieut. Gen. Hoang Xuan Chien voiced his confidence that sustained goodwill and joint action would allow both sides to tackle lingering war consequences while broadening cooperation across other domains, which, he described as the best way to heal physical, emotional, and societal scars and fostering the stronger Vietnam - US relationship.

With 0% tariffs, Vietnamese goods will become more competitive in the US market. At the same time, Vietnam will emerge as a more attractive and stable destination for investors seeking to diversify supply chains.
Accordingly, the US has pledged to maintain a 19% tariff for Malaysia. As many as 1,711 tariff lines, comprising key export commodities such as palm oil, rubber, cocoa, aircraft parts, and pharmaceuticals, are exempted from the 19% rate.
