- Party General Secretary To Lam, who is also head of the Central Steering Committee for Prevention and Control of Corruption, Wastefulness and Negative Phenomena, chaired a conference in Hanoi on December 11 to evaluate the country’s anti-corruption combat throughout the 13th National Party Congress’s term.

The event saw the presence of Politburo members, including State President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Cam Tu, along with high-level officials from the Government, the National Assembly, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the municipal and provincial Party Committees, among others. - Despite facing a dual shock - the combined impact of external headwinds and a historically severe spell of storms and flooding - Vietnam’s economy continued to strengthen in November and is positioned to accelerate towards its 2025 targets.

In the penultimate month of the year, a series of key macroeconomic indicators pointed to sustained improvement. Industrial production, exports, domestic consumption and business formation all advanced, underscoring the economy’s capacity to withstand disruptions caused by unprecedented natural disasters. The recent phenomenon of “storm upon storm, flood upon flood” inflicted heavy damage across multiple localities, affecting livelihoods and production, yet the economy still delivered what Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang called “important and comprehensive results.” Read full story

- More than six years after the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) entered into force, the trade pact is driving robust export growth for Vietnamese agriculture, particularly aquatic products, rice and fruits, into the bloc’s high-value markets.

The 12-member CPTPP covering Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, the UK and Vietnam saw two-way trade with Vietnam reach 102.8 billion in the first 10 months of 2025, up 20.6% from a year earlier. - Since its launch in March 2022, the eTax Mobile application has recorded more than 13 million downloads and processed over 17.2 million transactions, with more than 26.5 trillion VND or 1.1 billion USD paid into the state budget.

The information was announced by the Department of Taxation under the Ministry of Finance at a training conference on new features and the launch of the eTax Mobile Chatbot on December 9. Read full story

- Mui Ne, a coastal destination about 200km from Ho Chi Minh City, has been named the world’s leading emerging travel hotspot for 2026 by Booking.com.

The ranking is part of Booking.com’s annual Travel Predictions report, based on accommodation data, traveller insights and feedback. The platform forecasts that Mui Ne in Lam Dong province will be at the centre of global travel trends next year as visitors increasingly seek personalised and meaningful journeys that reflect their own style and identity./. Frigate 015 – Tran Hung Dao concludes visit to RoK
