Dong Nai (VNA) – The southern province of Dong Nai strives to develop into a green, prosperous, modern and civilised locality, meeting basic criteria of a centrally-run city by 2030, according to a resolution adopted at the first Congress of the provincial Party Organisation for the 2025-2030 tenure, which concluded on September 30.

The resolution affirms the province’s determination to remain steadfast in renewing thinking, creatively applying Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought to its development goals, ideals and aspirations in the new era.

It underlines the target of building a pure and strong Party organisation and political system, fostering the strength of great national unity, and promoting a pioneering spirit, creativity, and a thirst for development.

Dong Nai aims to pioneer in digital economy, green economy, circular economy, knowledge economy, and sharing economy, while spearheading the development of aviation, high-tech industry, high-tech agriculture, logistics, science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

Economic growth will go hand in hand with cultural and social development and environmental protection, while ensuring better living standards for local residents, maintaining national defence, security and social order, and strengthening external relations and international integration.

The resolution highlights a selective development approach based on the province’s potential, advantages and position in the Southern Key Economic Region. Restructuring development space will serve as a new driver for achieving double-digit economic growth.

Ensuring national defence and security remains a priority, especially protecting strategic projects such as Long Thanh International Airport, Phuoc An Port cluster, Hoa Lu Border Gate Economic Zone, major industrial parks and key transport routes.

For the next five years, Dong Nai will focus on two main drivers of industry and services. Industrial growth will centre on attracting new-generation strategic investors, filling up existing industrial parks and developing high-tech, green and supporting industries.

Service development will be driven by the Long Thanh International Airport urban-service complex, including a free trade centre and an ecosystem of aviation, logistics, commerce and tourism services.

The province will also maximise the spillover effects of Long Thanh airport on infrastructure, urban development, investment attraction and economic value increasing. Adjusting the provincial master plan for 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050 is considered essential to align with national socio-economic strategies and regional development orientations.

By 2030, Dong Nai aims for average annual economic growth of at least 10%, with GRDP exceeding 1.2 quadrillion VND (45.4 billion USD) and per capita GRDP topping 250 million VND.

Economic structure is expected to comprise 60-64% industry-construction, 25-28% trade-services, 5-7% agriculture-forestry-fisheries, and 5-6% product taxes minus subsidies. The digital economy is projected to contribute more than 30% of GRDP, while budget revenue will grow 10-12% annually. Around 36,000 new enterprises are expected to be established between 2026 and 2030.

The congress announced the Politburo’s decision on personnel appointments to the provincial Party Committee, Standing Board, Secretary, Deputy Secretaries, and the Inspection Board for the 2025-2030 tenure, along with delegates to attend the 14th National Party Congress.

In his closing remarks, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Vu Hong Van stressed that the congress marked a milestone, reflecting the high political resolve of the Party Organisation and people. He called on all officials, Party members, armed forces, businesses and people to uphold traditions, stay united, and effectively mobilise resources to seize opportunities for breakthrough development.

After the congress, Party organisations at all levels were tasked with disseminating the resolution and swiftly translating it into action plans and patriotic emulation movements, thereby ensuring the successful realisation of the 2025-2030 goals, Van emphasised./.
