Inspection work must frankly point out limitations, shortcomings: PM

The inspection of the Standing Boards of the Party Committees of Ho Chi Minh City, and Binh Duong, and Ba Ria – Vung Tau provinces must highlight achievements, draw lessons, and frankly point out limitations and shortcomings, said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

HCM City (VNA) - Politburo member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on February 23 chaired a conference announcing the Politburo and Secretariat's 2025 decision to inspect the Standing Boards of the Party Committees of Ho Chi Minh City, and Binh Duong, and Ba Ria – Vung Tau provinces.

Accordingly, the inspection focuses on reviewing the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, dated October 25, 2017 by the 12th Party Central Committee, which seeks to streamline the political system for greater efficiency and effectiveness, as well as the Party Central Committee's Conclusion No. 121-KL/TW, dated January 24, 2025 on summarising the implementation of Resolution 18, linked to the establishment and operation of new Party organisations.

Additionally, the inspection covers the implementation of Directive No. 35-CT/TW, dated June 14, 2024, of the Politburo on Party congresses at all levels in preparation for the 14th National Party Congress, along with Conclusion No. 118-KL/TW, dated January 18, 2025, which adjusts and supplements certain contents of Directive 35.

The inspection delegation will also examine the thorough understanding and implementation of the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, dated December 22, 2024, on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, and assess the implementation of Conclusion No. 123-KL/TW, dated January 24, 2025, of the Party Central Committee on adjustments to the 2025 socio-economic development plan, which aims for a growth target of 8% or higher.

Chinh, head of the inspection delegation, said that the issues required for inspection by the Politburo and Secretariat this time are all extremely important, considering that Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, and Ba Ria – Vung Tau all play a crucial role as key growth drivers of the entire country.

Emphasising that inspection and supervision are among the leadership methods of the Party, Chinh requested members of the inspection delegation to uphold the spirit of self-discipline, self-criticism, and criticism, and democracy and strictly adhering to the principles of the Party, the Constitution, and the law.

He stressed the need to fully perform their responsibilities with seriousness, accurately reflect the essence of the issues, and ensure the inspection process is conducted swiftly, efficiently, and with high quality.

The inspection must highlight achievements, draw lessons, and frankly point out limitations and shortcomings. It should also propose solutions to the found problems, thereby creating momentum and driving force to further improve the implementation of the inspected contents./.
