Quang Tri (VNA) – A Bollywood film crew has arrived in the central province of Quang Tri to begin shooting SILAA, the first Indian production to showcase the spectacular caves of Phong Nha – Ke Bang and other scenic locations in the province.

The project is expected to significantly boost Quang Tri’s image among both domestic and international travellers.

Welcoming the crew on the morning of July 30, Dang Dong Ha, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, emphasised that the film offers a valuable opportunity to promote Quang Tri’s tourism potential, particularly to Indian visitors, but also to a broader global audience.

He noted that the collaboration opens up opportunities to develop film-related tourism services, encouraging closer ties between the cultural film industry and the tourism sector.

With Bollywood’s multi-billion-US-dollar industry and immense influence over Indian audiences, showcasing Quang Tri’s landscapes in this film could reach hundreds of millions of viewers and boost Indian visitor numbers to the province in the near future, Ha noted.

SILAA is produced and managed by Rahul Bali, a prominent figure in the Bollywood industry and CEO of Innovations India. One of the film’s key objectives is to promote tourism in both India and Vietnam, with a specific focus on Quang Tri province. The total production budget is estimated at around 4 million USD.

The romantic action film blends a love story with themes of revenge, featuring dramatic scenes shot across Cao Bang, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, and Quang Tri provinces.

In Quang Tri, filming is scheduled from July 31 to August 12, with scenes set in iconic locations such as Son Doong Cave, Phong Nha, Tan Hoa, Tu Lan and Hang Tien.

On the afternoon of July 30, the Quang Tri Provincial People’s Committee is set to host a meeting with the film crew to provide information on the province’s tourism strengths, its orientation towards sustainable and green tourism development, and its unique tourism products.

Quang Tri authorities also reaffirmed their commitment to supporting film crews, producers, and directors, and pledged to create the most favourable conditions for future film projects in the province./.
