Tay Ninh's merger with Long An province to form the new Tay Ninh province is not only part of the ongoing administrative reform but also a turning point that opens up a new development space, maximising local potential and resources. Tay Ninh aims to develop into a strategic connectivity centre linking the southeast region with the Mekong Delta, and an important trade gateway with Cambodia and the Greater Mekong Subregion.

Tay Ninh (VNA) – The first Congress of the Tay Ninh provincial Party Organisation for the 2025–2030 tenure opened on October 9, bringing together 447 delegates representing more than 94,000 Party members across the province.

In his opening remarks, Secretary of the Tay Ninh provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Quyet emphasised that the congress demonstrates the Party Organisation’s highest political determination to drive Tay Ninh’s breakthrough growth in step with the country’s new development era.

Based on a comprehensive assessment of local conditions, the congress set development orientations for 2025–2030 that target rapid, sustainable growth — with people at the centre, businesses as the driving force, innovation as the key, and infrastructure as the foundation.

Tay Ninh's merger with Long An province to form the new Tay Ninh province, he said, is not only part of the ongoing administrative reform but also a turning point that opens up a new development space, maximising local potential and resources. Tay Ninh aims to develop into a strategic connectivity centre linking the southeast region with the Mekong Delta, and an important trade gateway with Cambodia and the Greater Mekong Subregion.

Key socio-economic targets include an average annual GRDP growth rate of 10–10.5%, GRDP per capita of 8,000–8,500 USD, an urbanisation rate of over 50%, and the eradication of poverty under new standards by 2030.

The province identified three strategic breakthroughs: administrative reform coupled with high-quality human resource development; promotion of science, technology, innovation, digital transformation, and green transition; and mobilisation of resources for synchronous, modern transport infrastructure connecting regional growth hubs.

During the 2020-2025 period, despite the severe impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Tay Ninh demonstrated resilience and adaptability, successfully containing the outbreak while maintaining economic growth. The province’s GRDP grew by 6.73% annually during the period, and by 9.52% in the first nine months of 2025, the highest among southern localities. Its economic scale is expected to reach nearly 352 trillion VND, (13.36 billion USD) ranking 10th nationwide, with GRDP per capita of about 4,776 USD./.
