Thousands of visitors have come to the northern province of Ninh Binh as the local Bai Dinh Pagoda Festival kicked off on January 27, or the sixth day of the Lunar New Year.

Ninh Binh (VNA) – Thousands of visitors have cometo the northern province of Ninh Binh as the local Bai Dinh Pagoda Festivalkicked off on January 27, or the sixth day of the Lunar New Year.

This is the 10th edition of the annual festivalsince the local Trang An Landscape Complex, including Bai Dinh pagoda, was recognised as a World Cultural And Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The original 1,000 year-old Bai Dinh Pagoda (Bai Dinh Co Tu),located in Gia Vien district’s Gia Sinh commune, is composed of temples worshipping Buddha, the Mountain God, and the Mother Goddess of the Forest. Itlies about 800 metres from the Tam The Temple of the new Bai Dinh Pagoda area –also known as the Bai Dinh Buddhism Spiritual Centre, covering 700ha.

The festival, which lasts until the end of the thirdlunar month, includes palanquin processions and a series of ceremonies praying for peace and payingrespect to Buddha, the gods and the goddesses./.

SEA Games 33: Vietnam excels with record-breaking performances

The trio of Nguyen Thuy Trang, Trinh Thu Vinh and Trieu Thi Hoa Hong delivered an impressive performance in the women’s 10m air pistol team event on December 14. Competing with consistency and precision, the Vietnamese shooters amassed a total of 1,711 points to win the gold medal and shatter the SEA Games record.

Vietnam Pho Day launched in Europe amid broader culinary push

Prior to the launch, the Vietnamese Embassy encouraged businesses and restaurants throughout Germany to join in the event. By December 12, six partners had signed up via the We Love Pho organisation's website (welovepho.org), committing to promotional posts, website and social media shares, features in Vietnamese language media, and special discounts for pho customers during the event.
