Tran Tien Dung elected Secretary of Dien Bien provincial Party Committee for 2025-2030 term

The Resolution of the 15th Provincial Party Congress outlines 22 key targets to be achieved by 2030, including an annual economic growth rate of 10–11%; a per capita GRDP of 115 million VND (4,360 USD); and attracting over 8 million tourist arrivals during the 2026–2030 period, with total tourism revenue reaching 15 trillion VND.

Dien Bien (VNA) - Deputy Secretary of the Dien Bien provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 tenure Tran Tien Dung was elected Secretary of the provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term on October 16.

Dung was elected at the first meeting of the new provincial Party Committee, during which 14 members of its Standing Board were also elected. Earlier, the 15th Congress of the provincial Party Organisation elected 52 members of the provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

Dung affirmed that the 15th-tenure provincial Party Committee will strictly adhere to the principle of democratic centralism in Party activities; continue to enhance the leadership capacity and combat strength of the Party Organisation; associate the collective and individual responsibilities to specific goals, targets, and tasks in accordance; and effectively promote the province’s potential and advantages with strong determination to build Dien Bien into a prosperously and sustainably developing province.

The Resolution of the 15th Provincial Party Congress outlines 22 key targets to be achieved by 2030, including an annual economic growth rate of 10–11%; a per capita GRDP of 115 million VND (4,360 USD); and attracting over 8 million tourist arrivals during the 2026–2030 period, with total tourism revenue reaching 15 trillion VND.

It also identifies three breakthrough areas for the term, with a focus on studying, issuing, or proposing the issuance of mechanisms and policies to create development momentum, and mobilising maximum resources for socio-economic infrastructure development.

The province will support the development of diverse, high-quality, and attractive tourism products; promote investment attraction; develop the Dien Bien Phu – Pa Khoang National Tourist Area to turn it into a national tourist site; and build Dien Bien into a major tourism hub, making tourism its spearhead economic sector./.

Government sets out coordinated plan for 2026 elections

The plan also aims to ensure that the elections are conducted in a democratic, equal and law-abiding manner, while being safe and cost-effective, truly becoming a nationwide civic event, thus contributing to strengthening and enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of the state apparatus and building a socialist rule-of-law state of Vietnam of the people, by the people and for the people.
