Vietnam, Cambodia bolster border trade connectivity

According to the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), during the first nine months of 2025, bilateral trade via land border gates reached 5.9 billion USD, up 15.5% year on year. Vietnam’s exports increased 16.6% to 5.83 billion USD, mainly textiles, steel and aquatic products, while Cambodia exported rubber, cashew nuts, and other agricultural goods.

Cambodia to pilot visa waiver for Chinese tourists

The exemption allows a 14-day stay during the four-month pilot, without requiring any application or fees. The completion of an e-arrival card upon entry is still required. During the pilot period, Chinese tourists can enter Cambodia multiple times.

Five sets of Vietnamese martyr remains recovered in Cambodia

Based on recovered artefacts and eyewitness accounts, Search Team K91 under the Dong Thap provincial Military Command believed that the remains belong to five Vietnamese martyrs who died in 1972-1973. Their identities have not yet been confirmed.

Tay Ninh seeks stronger cooperation with neighbouring Cambodian provinces

Tay Ninh holds a strategic position along the East–West Economic Corridor, acting as a key gateway linking Cambodia with ASEAN. With nearly 369 km of shared border, an extensive network of border gates and a robust system of industrial zones, the province has sustained GRDP growth of 9.52%—the highest in Việt Nam’s southeast—and attracted over 1,952 FDI projects worth 24.5 billion USD.

Both sides discussed strengthening communication and ideological education in the current context, including political training for officials, combating hostile narratives that threaten national solidarity, and guiding public opinion to maintain confidence in each Party and State’s policies.

The year 2025 has seen robust progress in bilateral defence cooperation, reflected through delegation exchanges, training and capacity-building activities, joint rescue and disaster response drills, and trilateral exchanges among Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam.
