Bosnia - Herzegovina lauds Vietnam’s global standing

Bosnia and Herzegovina attaches importance to and wishes to further promote the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam.

Hanoi (VNA) – Bosnia and Herzegovina highly values Vietnam’s dynamic development achievements and its increasingly prominent position in the region and the world, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić while receiving Vietnamese Ambassador Bui Le Thai, who presented his credentials on December 12 in the capital city of Sarajevo.

Komšić also said Bosnia and Herzegovina attaches importance to and wishes to further promote the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam.

The host conveyed his regards to State President Luong Cuong and other key leaders of Vietnam.

Komšić underscored his country’s readiness to continue close coordination with Vietnam at multilateral forums, particularly within the United Nations, and its support for cooperation initiatives of mutual benefit. He expressed confidence in the prospects of bilateral ties, especially as the two countries are preparing to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (1996–2026).

The Presidency Chairman affirmed that he would instruct relevant Bosnian agencies to work closely with the Vietnamese Embassy and study the early signing of bilateral cooperation agreements to establish a solid legal framework for bilateral relations.

For his part, Thai respectfully conveyed the greetings and best wishes from Party General Secretary To Lam, State President Cuong and other high-ranking leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam to the Chairman of the Presidency and the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The ambassador congratulated Bosnia and Herzegovina on its achievements in development and international integration, particularly the European Union’s decision to start accession negotiations, voicing his hope that the Southern European country will soon become an official EU member.

Thai affirmed that Vietnam consistently treasures its traditional friendship with Bosnia and Herzegovina and wishes to step up bilateral cooperation. He proposed enhancing exchanges of delegations at all levels, especially high-level visits, to build political trust and mutual understanding; closely coordinating to soon organise political consultations at deputy foreign minister level; and considering negotiations and the signing of bilateral agreements to strengthen the legal foundation for relations and promote cooperation in economy, trade, investment, culture, education, sports, tourism and people-to-people exchanges.

He also suggested that the two sides continue close coordination and mutual support at multilateral forums, particularly the UN./.

Frigate 015 – Tran Hung Dao concludes visit to RoK
