Running across four nights until April 30, the programme features performances from 7:30 to 9:30 pm at iconic city locations, including Nguyen Hue Walking Street, the municipal People’s Committee headquarters, the Opera House, and the Bach Dang Wharf area along the Saigon River.
The national commemoration ceremony will take place at 6:30 am on April 30, along Le Duan Street, District 1, and other streets in the central districts of the city.
At 8:45 pm on April 30, all 10,500 drones will take to the sky, followed by a 15-minute fireworks display across 30 city locations at 9 pm., creating a festive and dazzling atmosphere, according to Nguyen Tat Kiet, head of the Performing Arts Division under the municipal Department of Culture and Sports.
A national-level celebration celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification in Ho Chi Minh City on April 30 will feature a 30-minute art performance, flag-saluting, speeches by top leaders and representatives of war veterans and young people. It will be followed by a military-civilian parade and a symbolic release of balloons and doves.
In addition to food offerings, visitors can enjoy traditional performances, including water puppetry, hat boi (classical drama), ethnic musical showcases, street magic, folk games, and craft village demonstrations. A marketplace reflecting Vietnam’s highland fairs is also recreated.
