World Bank delegation surveys Can Tho urban resilience project

The project is jointly financed by the WB with up to 250 million USD and a 10-million-USD non-refundable grant from the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), along with counterpart funding from the Vietnamese Government. Its goal is to build a climate-resilient and sustainable city that can drive socio-economic growth across the Mekong Delta, mitigate flood vulnerability in central Can Tho, and improve inter- and intra-regional transport connectivity.

Top legislator meets with Can Tho’s voters ahead of 15th NA’s 10th session

The top legislator requested the city to effectively and drastically implement resolutions of the Politburo and the NA on Can Tho’s development through 2030, with a vision to 2040, and on piloting special mechanisms and policies for the city; continue to remove obstacles for investors and businesses; address pending projects; accelerate public investment disbursement; increase investment for education, science, and health care.

Mekong Delta emerging as plastic waste “hotspot”, experts warn
