Czech Senate President wraps up official visit to Vietnam

Hanoi (VNA) - President of the Senate of the Czech Republic’s Parliament Milos Vystrcil left Hanoi on November 22 evening, concluding his five-day official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.

During his stay, the Czech Senate President paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his Mausoleum and laid a wreath at the Monument to Heroic Martyrs on Bac Son street in Hanoi.

Party General Secretary To Lam and State President Luong Cuong hosted receptions for the Czech leader, while National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man hosted a welcome ceremony and held talks with him.

At the talks and meetings, the Vietnamese leaders welcomed the Czech Senate President and his delegation and highlighted the significance of the visit, noting that it reflects the shared commitment of both countries’ leaders and peoples to strengthening traditional friendship and long-standing cooperation.

They stressed that the visit helps create fresh momentum for the newly established Strategic Partnership, aiming to elevate bilateral ties in a more substantive and effective manner.

Vietnamese leaders also expressed the hope that the two legislatures would continue close coordination, providing a legal framework that facilitates bilateral cooperation in line with the interests of both nations.

Expressing his pleasure at visiting Vietnam, Senate President Vystrcil thanked Vietnamese leaders for their warm reception. He voiced strong support for the cooperation directions proposed by Vietnam and affirmed that both he and the Czech Senate will work closely with the Vietnamese National Assembly, supporting the two governments and relevant ministries in advancing the friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation built on mutual respect.

He added that the Czech Senate stands ready to encourage remaining EU member states to soon ratify the EU–Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).

During the visit, NA Chairman Man and Senate President Vystrcil toured the National Assembly’s underground archaeological site.

The Senate President also met with Czech and Vietnamese businesses; visited the “Little Hanoi, Next Generation” exhibition; worked with the Vietnam Red Cross Society; attended the opening ceremony of the European Film Festival in Vietnam and a screening of the Czech film Summer School 2001; visited the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam; and witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the two diplomatic academies.

He also paid working visits to Ho Chi Minh City and Quang Ninh province./.

Frigate 015 – Tran Hung Dao concludes visit to RoK
